New API Structure and Devlog Layout

I have been slacking on progress over the past week or so, but I am happy to share where my site is at now. As my friend put it, “You need to remember there are a lot of people in the world, and shocker that means you’ll come across people from time to time who change your life.” Anyway, with my head back in the right space I’ve been able to make quite a bit of progress. The biggest things I’ve done is bring back the portfolio page and mostly maintain the functionality it has now while utilizing APIs; I have also managed to create my own devlog page with a consistent layout finally.

The Devlog will have several categories, including a category for the past post or few posts depending on if you’re on desktop or mobile. The featured section will use a special query where only the past few entries will be retrieved, and there will be no scroll button. The idea is to just streamline navigation and let you find what you’re after quickly.

The video below gives a pretty good walk through of the expected front-end and back-end. However, do keep in mind that the update is still a work in progress. My mind has been all over the place lately, and I have not been as organized as I would like to be. Thankfully now that I have my marbles together it’s just a matter of boring database entries and deciding how to render information to the user. I use a few APIs to make that easier and more consistent for me than anything. Anyway, you can check out the new layout below, but please keep in mind this is still a work in progress.
